How do you obtain a Category C Licence?
Step 1 – Medical & Theory Training
You need to have had a medical to apply for a vocational licence. We can arrange this for you, however, if you have a condition that may affect your application we advise you arrange this yourself with your own GP.
If you do your medical through us you can also complete a theory training day with one of our Instructors. This gives you an excellent opportunity to get some hands on and visual learning, familiarise yourself with the online theory training website and ask any questions you may have about any of the theory tests.
Step 2 – Provisional Licence
Once you have completed your medical you will need to send off the D4 form along with the provisional application D2 form which you will need to complete and send to Vocational Licence Section, Driver & Vehicle Licensing Agency, Swansea, SA99 1BR. If you have a medical through us we will do this for you as part of our service.
Step 3 – Revision Material
We provide access to an online theory website. This has learning material and mock tests to help you practice the theory tests. Your account will be valid for 6 months and you are able to use it as little or as often as you wish within this time frame.
If you are an employer and would like to track your employee's progress, we will set you up with a separate login to enable you to do that. It allows you to track and download reports on how many hours your employee's have completed, see which specific areas of the tests they are finding difficult and check their marks on each practice test they have taken.
Step 4 – Theory Test
Hazard Perception (Pass mark is 67 out of 100)
Multiple Choice (Pass mark is 85 out of 100)
Step 5 - Driving Assessment
Once you receive your licence back with the provisional entitlement on it let us know and we can then arrange an initial driving assessment for you. This is to ensure you are happy using us for your practical training and allows us to make sure you are ready to start your 5 day driving course.
Step 6 – Training and Test
Once you have passed both your theory tests we can book your Category C practical driving course. This is a total of 4 consecutive days training with your test on the 5th day.
