Apprenticeships in Logistics

We hold a direct funded contract with the ESFA and are on the Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers for both levy and non levy paying employers. We have undergone three Ofsted inspections of our provision, in 2009, 2013 and June 2017, with each inspection finding us to be a good provider awarding us a Grade 2.

They praised us for our links with our sector and for delivering schemes that provide our apprentices with the competences to function well in their new roles. The latest report stated... "Apprentices thrive in a positive culture where communication among staff, managers and apprentices is good and positive, leading to trust and respect. The supportive family atmosphere in which staff work brings out the best out of them." -Ofsted

We provide Apprenticeships in two occupational areas - LGV Driver and Traffic Office Operative.

Where are the Apprenticeship days run?

Depending on the number of candidates you have we offer Apprenticeship delivery anywhere in the country.

What driving licence will I gain out of the LGV Apprenticeship

Currently the Apprenticeship funds a rigid licence only, however, there are plans to include the artic licence in the future.

How long does the Apprenticeship take?

All of our Apprenticeship programmes are a minimum of 12 months duration.

Does it take 12 months to get my licence?

On the LGV Driver Apprenticeship you should expect to gain your licence within the first 3/4 months of starting.

Is there an English and maths requirement for the Apprenticeship?

Yes, as part of all Level 2 Apprenticeships there is a requirement to pass level 1 English and maths, unless the candidate already holds this or the equivalent qualification, and then progress to attempt the level 2.

Can you help me recruit Apprentices?

Yes. We can advertise your Apprenticeship vacancies and screen initial applicants in line with your requirements and then send the details of the candidates over to you to select for interview.

What our apprentices are saying...

"Above & Beyond Expectations! "

LGV drivers are in short supply nationally and at SIG we struggle to find and retain good people. With Wttl’s help, we have been able to utilise our apprenticeship levy and upskill our existing workforce to provide a pipeline of high quality drivers. The training we have received has been exceptional. Their commitment to upskilling our people goes above and beyond expectations, and exceeds the requirements laid down by apprenticeship standards and the Government. From our first contact with Wttl we felt we were in the hands of a provider who understood our challenges and goals and we consider them to be a valued training partner who we were lucky to find.

"Second To None! "

I started my logistics operations level 3 apprenticeship with Wttl in early 2017 and completed it by passing the CPC in December 2017. It had been over 10 years since I’d done anything academic but Tom was a fantastic mentor throughout. I worked hard and it paid off as I was presented with Wttl’s Apprentice of the Year 2017 award which I am extremely proud of. I’d definitely recommend apprenticeships to anyone looking to further their career. The support you receive from the staff at Wttl is second to none.
