Apprenticeships & NVQs
NVQ Level 2 & 3 Driving Goods Vehicles
Duration: Approx 6 months.
Entry Requirements:
Any qualified person working as an LGV driver.
Objectives:
To gain a National Vocational Qualification in Driving Goods Vehicles. NVQs are a measure of competence and skills level. They are delivered and assessed in the work place.
Content:
The candidate is requires to complete all mandatory level 2 units or 8 mandatory and 2 optional level 3 units:
Mandatory Units:
- L2&3 - monitoring the loading of the vehicle by others
- L2&3 - completing pre driving prepartions
- L2&3 - maintaining the safety and security of the load, self and property
- L2&3 - maintaining awareness of driving conditions
- L2&3 - operating vehicle systems
- L2 - driving the vehicle on public roads
- L2&3 - driving the vehicle in restricted spaces
- L3 - unloading the vehicle
- L3 - driving the vehicle safely and effiiciently on public roads
Optional Units:
- L2 - unloading the vehicle
- L2&3 - coupling and uncoupling the vehicle
- L3 - obtaining information on the delivery and collection of loads
- L3 - planning the route and tmings for the delivery and collection of loads
- L3 - loading the vehicle
