Wttl support Road Safety Week

13 Oct 2010

Wttl are happy to lend our annual support to Road Safety Week, an initiative by Brake, which this year runs from 22nd to 28th November 2010.

Each year Brake chooses topics that are the biggest killers on our roads. The theme for Road Safety Week 2010 is: KIDS SAY SLOW DOWN!

Every day in Britain at least 8 children are killed or seriously injured while on foot and bicycle. To overcome these statistics, Brake and Wttl are encouraging schools to get involved in Road Safety Week to help promote road safety awareness.

We are offering schools in the Wiltshire area an opportunity to get involved, by arranging a visit by one of our Instructors. Our Instructor will demonstrate, by use of a theory presentation and the aid of our training truck, the importance of vehicles slowing down, stopping distances and blind spots when driving large goods vehicles.

There is no charge for this service, visits are complimentary and yes, you do get to sit in the truck cab!

Spaces are limited, if you would like more info, please contact Emma on 0845 600 9598 or by email on enquiries@wttl.co.uk.

Apprenticeship Event

7 Oct 2010

Further to our announcement in the August newsletter about Wttl being awarded an Apprenticeship contract to deliver:
Warehousing
Traffic Office
Driving Goods Vehicles

We will be working with the National Apprenticeship Service (NAS) to promote the benefits of the schemes.

The first event for employers, will be held at Swindon College on Wednesday 20th October between 6pm and 8.30pm.

This will be an ideal opportunity for Logistics Employers to engage with local Apprenticeship providers and for the funding bodies to see that Logistics is a sector worth investment.

Wttl achieve the Training Quality Standard

5 Oct 2010

After 12 months of preparation, consultancy, procedure reviews, bid writing and submission, Wttl received a validation visit from Investors in Excellence on the 27th August.

This day of staff interviews and procedure audits passed successfully and our application moved to the final stage, the employer survey. 198 of our trading clients were contacted by the awarding body for feedback, and as a result of your input Wttl were awarded the standard, with one of the highest employer scores received. But don't think that having joined an exclusive group of providers with TQS, we'll be resting on our laurels. We know there are 4 employers out there who didn't feel our service was good enough to recommend, so we still have work to do to improve!
