Pttls (Preparing to Teach) Qualification - Course starting 1st October 2012

Preparing to Teach
Since the implementation of DCPC, Wttl have offered a Train the Trainer course for employed trainers to satisfy the requirements of Jaupt and deliver “in house” modules.

Whilst our programme has more than satisfied the outlined standards, we felt an accredited programme nationally recognised would add even more credibility to the training team. Therefore, we are now offering the Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learner Sector (PTLLS) award delivered over 6 days.

Course syllabus available, via email, post or fax, please call/email for details.
Dates of next course:
1st & 2nd October (days 1 & 2) and 5th & 6th November 2012 (days 3 & 4) and 3rd & 4th December (days 5 & 6)

Apprenticeship of the Year Finalist

27 Apr 2012

We are very pleased to announce that our apprenticeship programme delivered in partnership with Dextra group has been recognised as one of the UK’s leading initiatives and selected as a finalist in this year’s Motor Transport Awards.

Over the past four years Wttl and Dextra Group have developed an innovative programme to give young people a comprehensive Introduction to Logistics. Director Tim Pickford was keen that candidates gained a good understanding of key roles within the business before making a longer term career choice.

Whilst no formal framework existed at the time the partnership incorporated an NVQ in Warehousing & Storage plus a second qualification in Traffic Office Operations incorporating a Lift truck Licence.

Upon successful completion of the Introduction to Logistics Programme candidates may then progress into a role in the Warehouse, Traffic Office, Driving or other business operations.

Changes to the CPC National & International Qualification

20 Jul 2011

As I am sure many of you are already aware the current CPC Qualification will be changing after the December 2011 exams. Please find below updated information about the future of the CPC, as set down by the new legislation and also by the Department for Transport:
As per the new legislation, the International and National CPC will merge.  This means that after the December 2011 exams, all candidates who take the CPC will be examined in relation to both International and National content (EC 1071/2009, Introduction, item 11).
The DfT have confirmed that OCR (CPC awarding body) is allowed to offer the current, discrete International examinations (current units 6 & 7) alongside the new provision.  OCR plans to offer these examinations for a minimum of a year, to allow candidates who have achieved the National CPC to 'top up' to the International CPC without restarting the new qualification.
The DfT have stipulated that candidates who have only partially achieved a National CPC by December 2011 (after the 2nd December exams), for example, have achieved units 1 and 2, but not 4, or 1 and 5, but not 3, will not be able to carry forward those achievements to the new qualifications.  Candidates with only partial achievement will need to complete the new qualification in full.
Changes to grandfather rights
In addition, the rules for claiming grandfather rights are changing.  In due course, VOSA will be in touch with all grandfather rights holders currently named on O-licences to set out the new arrangements.

Please find below a link to the consultation document on implementing EC regulation 1071/2009.
Please click here
This regulation makes a number of changes to the rules on O-licensing that will affect how the requirements to apply for and hold an O-licence will operate in future.

Wttl are currently taking bookings for the CPC National and International Courses in both August/September (exams on 9th September) and November/December (exams on 2nd December), however, in light of the above changes, spaces are filling up fast.
