With the UK driver shortfall running at anything up to 80,000 recruiting qualified drivers is a real headache for employers in all sectors of the industry.

Driver Placement is a major initiative from WTTL to help solve the problem by combining recruitment, training and employment in a way that allows aspiring drivers to gain training with a cost in only commitment and employers to gain a valuable employee with no additional outlay.

Agency sourced labour can result in open-ended costs and can only be regarded as a stop-gap solution. Also, since the agency can only use drivers with 2 years experience, the availability of locally sourced drivers can be severely limited. With this scheme WTTL work in partnership with the employer to recruit from a pool of candidates with a training need. This may involve training a complete novice to C-licence accreditation in a very short time, or upgrading existing C-licence drivers to C+E.

Once trained and licenced the drivers are then able to take up the vacancy and join the client's workforce.
