The Driver Placement Partnership, combines recruitment, training and employment in such a manner that aspiring drivers can enter the industry with a cost only in commitment. The employer gains a new employee with a cost only in time. The unique element of this relationship is that additional capital outlay is not required from any one within the partnership.
The basic premise is that any distribution or logistics provider currently makes up a shortfall of core employees by the use of agency labour. This cost we have found to be open ended and whilst it addresses a short term need the root issue is not being addressed.
The combination of training provider, & employer allows the partnership to recruit from a pool of candidates with a training need. By addressing this need & recouping any training cost via a temp to perm period, we can then provide an employment outcome without any additional capital outlay by the employer.
Who Does What?
After agreement by the partners to the project;
WTTL

Responsible for advertising of vacancies through local media, job centres and training providers.

Initial interview and selection of candidates to be put forward to yourselves for joint final interview and assessment.

Payroll drivers through initial temp to perm period deducting tax and NI for the purposes of PAYE.

Provide a project manager with responsibility for the training plan.

What Will I Have To Pay?
The basic principle is that our candidate replaces an existing agency worker until completion of training and the temp to perm period (to be agreed) which would cover our investment costs.

We would also ask that where possible the site makes available a vehicle for any in cab training needed to give the candidate the benefit of training in his working vehicle.
The Financial Benefit

At present most employers make up any staff shortfall by the use of agency labour with nil return.

Under this partnership the agency spend would be used to cover all recruitment & training needs with a net return in trained employees at the end of the project .
