When Commercial Motor wanted to run an article on young people making their way in our sector, they were on the phone asking for our input.

Happy to oblige, ex apprentices, Joe Brunt & Tom Pearce made the trip back to Devizes to talk about their experience on scheme.

It was also a chance for us to snap what is probably the youngest pair of qualifed transport managers in the U.K. having both completed the CPC course at the age of 16.

Outstanding Apprentice of the Year

27 Apr 2013

Ben Humphries who joined our Apprentice programme aged 17, some 7 months prior to the legal age to hold a LGV licence, has had his achievements recognised at the Forester Business of the Year 2013 Awards  being awarded the "Outstanding Apprentice of the Year".

Due to his application to the scheme Ben undertook the DSA theory elements just 10 days after gaining his provisional licence, his success in these tests probably made him one of the youngest in the UK to ever hold these qualifications. After successfully gaining his Cat C licence and completing the Level 2 Certificate in Driving Goods Vehicles Ben progressed to take the DSA test for articulated vehicles, again being successful at first attempt.
